This information might be useful when playing Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version, too.

How the Safari Zone game works

You’ll have to pay $500 to get in. Once you’re in, you can catch all the Pokémon you want using a special Poké Ball called a Safari Ball (you get 30 balls). You have 500 steps to navigate every section of the area. When you run out of time or Safari Balls, the game is over. While you’re in the Safari Zone, you can check how much time you have left by pressing START.

Because you only have to walk 500 steps in the Safari Zone, you can fish for Pokémon as long as you want.

How to catch a Pokémon in the Safari Zone

You can’t attack Pokémon in the Safari Zone, but you can distract them or make them easier to catch by throwing rocks and bait. When you’ve thrown enough rocks and bait, throw a Safari Ball. However, throwing rocks may make a Pokémon run. include/footer.htmlssi/footer.txt"-->
