Ruby/Sapphire Version

Does a damage calculation, which is not a critical hit and whose damage isn’t affected by the target’s or user’s types, by the user against the target (won’t fail); at the end of the turn that follows the next turn, if there is a Pokémon at the target’s position (even if the user is that Pokémon), deals damage to that Pokémon by the damage calculated. Accuracy check and damage variance are performed only when attack is returned. (Doesn’t deal damage if the Pokémon at the target’s position is using Bounce, Dig, Dive, or Fly.) Remains in effect even if user or the target leaves the battle (except if the battle ends). Damage returned is not affected by type immunities. During effect, this attack fails against the Pokémon at the target’s position. Returned attack is not considered an attack by the user. (If more than one Pokémon uses this attack in the same turn, each of those hits will occur when the attacks are returned, in turn order of the effects' targets, and the game is not decided until all those hits resolve. If a Pokémon faints this way, a new Pokémon in battle is chosen before the other hits resolve.)

Diamond/Pearl Version

Does a damage calculation, which is not a critical hit and whose damage is not affected by the target’s or user’s types (other than by Sandstorm), by the user against the target (won’t fail); at the end of the turn that follows the next turn, if there is a Pokémon at the target’s position (even if the user is that Pokémon), the damage calculated is returned to that Pokémon. Accuracy check is done only when attack is returned; damage variance is done only as this attack is used. Remains in effect even if user or the target leaves the battle (except if the battle ends). Damage returned is not affected by type immunities. During effect, this attack fails against the Pokémon at the target’s position. Returned attack is not considered an attack by the user. (If more than one Pokémon uses this attack in the same turn, each of those hits will occur when the attacks are returned, and the game is not decided until all those hits resolve.)

Black/White Version

Has no immediate effect when used (won’t fail). Effect lasts three turns, including this turn. At the end of the last turn, if there is a Pokémon at the position the target had when the effect began and if the user isn’t that Pokémon, deals damage from the user to that Pokémon. If the user isn’t in battle or is rotated out as the damage is dealt this way, the damage is calculated and its accuracy is determined according to the user’s level, type, and Special Attack stat (before it left the battle, except Transform and Imposter still revert the type and stats to their originals), and as though the user had no item or Ability (without applying the accuracy stat stage, other stat stages of the user, or other effects that modify Special Attack). Accuracy check is performed only when attack is returned. Remains in effect even if user or the target isn’t in battle or is rotated out (except if the battle ends). (Effect is not suspended if user or the target is rotated out.) During effect, this attack fails against the Pokémon at that position. Returned attack is considered an attack by the user even if the user leaves the battle or is rotated out. (If more than one Pokémon uses this attack in the same turn, each of those hits will occur when the attacks are returned in the order in which their effects began, but the game is decided after each hit.)
