Pokédex - Move Data - Rage
Red/Blue Version
Type | Power | Accuracy | PP |
---|---|---|---|
NORMAL | 20 | 255 | 20 |
If this attack is successful and isn’t already in effect, the effect begins. During effect, user uses this attack during each of its attack segments and can’t take any other action (further uses of this attack during effect doesn’t cause PP to be spent). During effect, whenever the user loses HP (or its substitute loses life points) because of an opposing Pokémon’s attack, the user’s Attack rises by 1 stage. Effect ends when the user leaves the battle. If this attack misses when this attack is used further, this attack’s accuracy becomes 1 until the effect ends.
Gold/Silver Version
Type | Power | Accuracy | PP | Effect Chance (/256) | Flags |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
NORMAL | 20 | 255 | 20 | 0 | fg |
If this attack is successful and it isn’t already in effect for the user, the effect begins and R is set to 1. During effect, whenever the user is damaged by an attack by the opposing Pokémon (as well as Guillotine), R rises by 1 (up to 255). (Doesn’t affect Pursuit as a Pokémon is about to switch out.) During effect, this attack’s power is multiplied by R (calculated after the type matchup multiplier and before the damage variance) when the user uses this attack. Effect ends and R is reset to 1 when the user leaves the battle or when the user doesn’t choose this move for use as a turn begins (effect doesn’t end if this attack is prevented from being used or misses).
Flag g: This attack has an accuracy check. BrightPowder and the like can reduce its accuracy. Flag f: If the user holds a King's Rock or the like, the target has a chance to flinch if this attack succeeds.
Ruby/Sapphire Version
Type | Power | Accuracy | PP | Effect Chance (%) | Range | Flags |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
NORMAL | 20 | 100 | 20 | 0 | Single exc. user | abef |
When user uses this attack and this move has at least 1 PP (before PP reductions), even if the attack misses or becomes ineffective, the effect begins if this attack isn’t in effect already, unless Protect or Detect is in effect for the target. During effect, whenever user loses HP because of a damaging attack by an opposing Pokémon, user’s Attack rises by 1 stage. During effect, whenever an opposing Pokémon uses Future Sight or Doom Desire against user, user’s Attack rises by 1 stage. Effect ends when user doesn’t choose this move for use or when user leaves the battle.
Flag a: This is a direct attack (contact move). Flag b: The target can use Protect or Detect to protect itself from this attack. Flag e: This attack can be used with Mirror Move. Flag f: If the user holds a King's Rock or the like, the target has a chance to flinch if this attack succeeds.
Diamond/Pearl Version
Type | Category | Power | Accuracy | PP | Effect Chance (%) | Range | Flags |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
NORMAL | Physical | 20 | 100 | 20 | 0 | Single exc. user | abef |
If this attack is successful and isn’t already in effect, the effect begins. During effect, whenever user loses HP because of an attack by another Pokémon (as well as Doom Desire and Future Sight), user’s Attack rises by 1 stage.
Detailed Information
When Rage’s effect ends, the effects of Substitute, Torment, confusion, infatuation, Curse, Transform, multi-turn attacks, and Uproar also end for the user. This odd behavior appears to be a bug . This doesn’t apply if Rage’s effect ends because the Pokémon is disobedient.
