Pokémon Emerald - Walkthrough Notes
Follow the walkthrough for Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, but note these differences.
At the top of Mt. Pyre, Team Aqua will take the Red Orb; Team Magma will take the Blue Orb. The old woman will give you a Magma Emblem.
Go to the Jagged Pass where the Magma member previously stood. A secret door will open in response to the Magma Emblem.
In this cave, you’ll first need to use Strength to move some boulders. This cave has many Pokémon and Team Magma members to battle, and it has several dead end passageways. At the end you will notice a Pokémon on the magma, named Groudon, and the Magma Boss trying to awaken it. He holds up the Blue Orb and Groudon disappears high up.
After leaving the hideout, fly to Slateport City, where you should pick up where the walkthrough left off.
In Mossdeep’s gym there’s a different kind of puzzle. Pressing the square buttons moves the force tiles and the trainers and statues on them. Stepping on a circle tile warps you to another location.
After getting the gym badge, you need to visit the Mossdeep Space Center and stop Team Magma from stealing rocket fuel. You will engage in a Double Battle with Steven helping you. Then visit Steven’s house to get HM08 (Dive).
In the Cave of Origin you will find Wallace, the former Sootopolis Gym Leader. Answer "Sky Pillar" to his question.
You can find the Sky Pillar by looking carefully at the rock formation bordering the north side of Route 131, east of Pacifidlog Town. Be sure to bring a Mach Bike.
Fly to Sootopolis City, and afterwards, talk to the Magma and Aqua leaders, and talk to Wallace again, who will give you HM07 (Waterfall). Juan replaces Wallace as the Gym Leader of this city.
