If an effect triggers whenever damage is dealt to a Pokémon with a certain ability, it has an effect only if that Pokémon hasn’t fainted, and only if that Pokémon and the attacker are within a 1-tile range of each other.

Stench

Whenever an attack by another Pokémon deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, that other Pokémon may be terrified (12% chance, not considered an additional effect).

Thick Fat

Damage of Fire- and Ice-type attacks against this Pokémon is halved. (See damage calculation.)

Rain Dish

This Pokémon regenerates HP faster if the weather is rainy. (See notes.)

Drizzle

When this Pokémon enters the floor and at every 36-round interval, the weather changes to Rain.

Arena Trap

Whenever an attack by another Pokémon deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, if that other Pokémon isn’t a Flying type and it doesn’t have the Levitate ability, that other Pokémon may gain Leg Hold (12% chance, not considered an additional effect).

Intimidate

The target’s Attack is multiplied by 4/5 for attacks against this Pokémon. (See damage calculation.)

Rock Head

When this Pokémon enters the floor and at every 36-round interval, the weather changes to Clear.

Hyper Cutter

Effects can’t lower this Pokémon’s Attack stat stage or stat multiplier.

Shadow Tag

Whenever an attack by another Pokémon deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, that other Pokémon may gain Leg Hold (12% chance, not considered an additional effect).

Speed Boost

Every 250 turns this Pokémon spends on a floor, this Pokémon Movement Speed is increased, and such an increase has an indefinite duration.

Battle Armor

Attacks against this Pokémon can’t be critical hits.

Sturdy

Suction Cups

This Pokémon can’t be pushed (Gust Trap, Whirlwind, and so on.) or thrown (Vital Throw, and so on.). This Pokémon can’t warp (Warp Tile, and so on.) or change position with Baton Pass or Switcher.

Clear Body

Effects can’t lower this Pokémon’s stat stages and stat multipliers.

Torrent

If this Pokémon current HP is less or equal to 1/4 of its maximum HP, rounded down, damage from Water-type moves by this Pokémon is doubled.

Guts

If this Pokémon has a status problem, this Pokémon’s Attack is doubled.

Rough Skin

Whenever an attack by another Pokémon deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, that other Pokémon loses half of the damage dealt.

Shell Armor

Attacks against this Pokémon can’t be critical hits.

Natural Cure

Duration of this Pokémon’s status problems lasts no more than five turns.

Damp

Explosions and huge explosions are prevented.

Limber

This Pokémon can’t be paralyzed.

Magnet Pull

Whenever an attack by another Pokémon deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, if that other Pokémon is a Steel type, that other Pokémon may gain Leg Hold (12% chance, not considered an additional effect).

White Smoke

Effects can’t lower this Pokémon’s stat stages and stat multipliers.

Synchronize

Whenever this Pokémon becomes burned, poisoned, badly poisoned, or paralyzed, all foes within a one-tile range of this Pokémon receive the same status problem, starting south of this Pokémon and continuing counterclockwise around this Pokémon. (Synchronize abilities of those foes will trigger.)

Overgrow

If this Pokémon current HP is less or equal to 1/4 of its maximum HP, rounded down, damage from Grass-type moves by this Pokémon is doubled.

Swift Swim

After this Pokémon uses an attack or move for the first time this turn, if the weather is rain, it uses the same attack or move. (No additional PP is spent even if foe has Pressure. If a linked move, the effect triggers after the moves in the link are used.)

Sand Stream

When this Pokémon enters the floor and at every 36-round interval, the weather changes to Sandstorm.

Sand Veil

As long as the weather is a sandstorm, this Pokémon Evasion rises by 2 stages.

Keen Eye

Effects can’t lower this Pokémon Accuracy stat stage.

Inner Focus

This Pokémon can’t cringe.

Static

Whenever a physical attack by another Pokémon deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, that other Pokémon may be paralyzed (12% chance, not an additional effect).

Shed Skin

At the end of this Pokémon turn, all of this Pokémon’s status problems may be healed (50% chance, not considered an additional effect). (See healing status problems.)

Huge Power

Whenever this Pokémon attacks, its Attack may be multiplied by 1.5 (33% chance, not considered an additional effect).

Volt Absorb

If damage from an Electric-type attack would be dealt to this Pokémon, this Pokémon gains HP equal to that damage instead.

Water Absorb

If damage from a Water-type attack would be dealt to this Pokémon, this Pokémon gains HP equal to that damage instead.

Forecast

At the end of this Pokémon turn, this Pokémon type changes depending on the weather: Rain, Fog: Water; Sunny: Fire; Hail, Snow: Ice; Clear, Sandstorm, Cloudy: Normal.

Serene Grace

Poison Point

Whenever an attack by another Pokémon deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, that other Pokémon may be poisoned (12% chance, not considered an additional effect).

Trace

Whenever an attack by another Pokémon hits this Pokémon, this Pokémon gains one of that Pokémon’s abilities. (That ability replaces this ability. Applied after effects that change targets, but before move’s effect begins. Nothing happens if that other Pokémon has no abilities.)

Oblivious

This Pokémon can’t be infatuated.

Truant

Whenever this Pokémon chooses to use a move or Orb (even if an effect prevents its use), it gains Paused at the end of its turn.

Run Away

If this Pokémon’s HP is less than half of its maximum HP, rounded down, and this Pokémon isn’t the team leader, it is terrified.

Sticky Hold

When this Pokémon enters the floor and at every 36-round interval, the weather changes to Clear.

Illuminate

Whenever a damaging move hits this Pokémon, if this Pokémon has this ability, a wild Pokémon appears somewhere on the floor (off screen) at the beginning of this Pokémon turn if there are 9 or fewer non-team-members on the floor and even if this Pokémon loses this ability. (Nothing happens in boss floors.)

Levitate

Plus

If an ally with the Minus ability is on the floor, this Pokémon’s Special Attack is multiplied by 1.5.

Pressure

Whenever a move by a foe of this Pokémon hits this Pokémon, that move’s PP is reduced by 1. (Effect is not cumulative. If the move is part of a linked move, other moves are not affected. Two-turn attacks are not affected. Applies even if move deals no damage. Applied after effects that change targets, but before move’s effect begins.)

Liquid Ooze

If an effect that drains HP from this Pokémon (including Leech Seed and Dream Eater) would recover HP to a Pokémon (including this Pokémon), that Pokémon loses that much HP instead.

Color Change

Whenever an attack by another Pokémon that isn’t of type None deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, if this Pokémon doesn’t share a type with that attack’s type, this Pokémon types become that move’s type. (Effective even if affected Pokémon has the Forecast ability.)

Soundproof

Grasswhistle, Heal Bell always, Hyper Voice, Metal Sound, Perish Song, Roar, Screech, Sing, Snore, Supersonic, and The moves Growl miss this Pokémon. (See accuracy check.)

Effect Spore

Whenever a physical attack by another Pokémon deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, that other Pokémon may be paralyzed, poisoned, or put to sleep (12% chance, not considered an additional effect).

Flame Body

Whenever an attack by another Pokémon deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, that other Pokémon may be burned (12% chance, not considered an additional effect).

Minus

If an ally with the Plus ability is on the floor, this Pokémon’s Special Attack is multiplied by 1.5.

Own Tempo

This Pokémon can’t be confused.

Magma Armor

This Pokémon can’t be frozen.

Water Veil

This Pokémon can’t be burned.

Swarm

If this Pokémon current HP is less or equal to 1/4 of its maximum HP, rounded down, damage from Bug-type moves by this Pokémon is doubled.

Cute Charm

Whenever a physical attack by another Pokémon deals at least 1 damage to this Pokémon, that other Pokémon may be infatuated (12% chance, not considered an additional effect).

Immunity

This Pokémon can’t be poisoned or badly poisoned.

Blaze

If this Pokémon current HP is less or equal to 1/4 of its maximum HP, rounded down, damage from Fire-type moves by this Pokémon is doubled.

Pickup

Whenever this Pokémon enters a floor, if this Pokémon isn’t holding an item, it picks up an item. (The item can’t be money.)

Flash Fire

This Pokémon is immune to Fire-type attacks (including Will-O-Wisp). Whenever a Fire-type attack is used against this Pokémon, X rises by 1 up to a maximum of 2. This Pokémon’s Special Attack stat stage rises by X for fire type attacks by this Pokémon. (See damage calculation.)

Vital Spirit

This Pokémon can’t be asleep, napping, yawning, or having a nightmare.

Chlorophyll

After this Pokémon uses an attack or move for the first time this turn, if the weather is sunny, it uses the same attack or move. (No additional PP is spent even if foe has Pressure. If a linked move, the effect triggers after the moves in the link are used.)

Pure Power

Whenever this Pokémon attacks, its Attack may be multiplied by 1.5 (33% chance, not considered an additional effect).

Shield Dust

No additional effects can occur against this Pokémon.

Notes

For abilities that change the weather, the game sets a variable, X, to 1 whenever the player enters a new floor. At the beginning of each round, if X equals 1, the game triggers the weather-changing effects of each Pokémon’s abilities, in the order below. Then, X rises by 1 and, if it is equal to 36, is set to 0. The order in which the effects are applied is below.

Drizzle -> Sand Stream -> Drought -> Air Lock/Cloud Nine
